Thanks to donations from sponsors, the Northern Mariana Islands Hotel Association is moving forward on September 17 with its annual Charity Classic golf tournament.

The cash donations come from onboard sponsors of the 20th annual tournament taking place at LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort, according to a statement from the association.

“Despite the financial difficulties that many companies are facing, we are extremely grateful for all the support provided by our sponsors for this year’s tournament, both in cash and in kind, which are always received,” said the president. of the association, Ivan Quichocho, in a press release.

“We are optimistic that the Marianas tourism economy will continue to gradually recover, and we are delighted to be able to support the Northern Marianas Technical Institute this year with a portion of our proceeds. NMTech is an important partner for all of us in developing a skilled local workforce.

The prizes up for grabs are a 2022 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport from Atkins Kroll Saipan, a 2022 Hyundai Kona from Triple J Motors, a 2022 Nissan Kicks from Joeten Motors, $20,000 cash from Bank of Saipan and $5,000 from Pacifica Insurance .

The fee for the tournament is $140, with opportunities to compete in the Men’s and Women’s Longest Drive, Precise Drive and Aggressive Drive, and four chances for Closest to the Pin are available for an additional $30.

The show time is at 6 a.m. and the tournament will start at 7 a.m., according to the release.

The awards banquet will immediately follow the tournament at LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort.
