Two people taken to hospital after A507 ‘multi-vehicle accident’ near Clifton

Two people have been taken to hospital after a multi-vehicle crash on the A507 at Clifton. Police said a vehicle ran off the road during the incident near the village.

The emergency services went to the scene on the A507 around noon on Friday June 24. The road has been closed in both directions between the B659 Hitchin Road and the A600 Hitchin Road.

Road closures remained in place at 5:30 p.m. Traffic information service Inrix said traffic was doing well and there were no major delays.

Police said the road was closed while the vehicles were recovered. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to come forward.

Bedfordshire Police said: “Road closures are in place on the A507 at Clifton as emergency services deal with a collision with multiple vehicles. The incident happened around midday today ( Friday) where a vehicle left the road and two people were taken to hospital.

“The road is closed at New Road and the roundabout with Hitchin Road pending vehicle recovery. Anyone with information is asked to contact us on 101 quoting reference 175.”
